Kraul Little Magnet Kit

Invisible, mysterious and endlessly fascinating, magnetism becomes something children can actually see, test and understand with the Kraul Little Magnet Kit.

This compact STEM science set invites children to experiment with attraction and repulsion, investigate which materials respond to a magnet and discover how magnetic forces behave through a series of hands on experiments.

Children can build a chain of nails, create a magnetic pendulum, experiment with a compass and use iron filings to reveal the otherwise invisible shape of a magnetic field. They can also explore a magnetic boat and discover how a magnet can influence movement without touching an object directly.

One of the most fascinating experiments introduces electromagnetism. By using copper wire and an iron core, children discover that electricity can create a magnetic field and that, unlike an ordinary permanent magnet, an electromagnet can be switched on and off.

It is a wonderfully practical introduction to physics, giving older children the opportunity to discover scientific principles for themselves through observation, experimentation and curiosity rather than simply reading about them.

Made by family run German company Kraul, the Little Magnet Kit reflects the brand’s philosophy beautifully: making nature and technology understandable through real experience and hands on discovery. Kraul places this kit within its Magnets & Electricity experiments and its long established Classics range.

Kraul Toys & Experiment Kits

Kraul is a family run German toy maker creating wonderfully inventive toys and experiment kits that help children discover how nature and technology really work.

Inspired by the elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire, Kraul toys encourage children to build, observe, experiment and find things out for themselves. From working cable cars, pulleys and water wheels to optics, magnetism and outdoor experiments, each design makes scientific ideas tangible through hands on play.

Kraul's roots stretch back to the 1920s. Its later toys were influenced by Walter Kraul's work as a Waldorf teacher, while physicist and meteorologist Christoph Kraul developed many of the company's scientific experiment kits. Almost everything is manufactured and packaged in Germany.
