The Kraul Big Shuttle Service Cable Car Set recreates the ingenious movement of a real mountain cable car, with two large wooden gondolas travelling back and forth on the same suspended route.
Turn the wheel at the upper station and one gondola climbs while the other descends, just like the classic shuttle cable cars seen high in the mountains. Load the cabins with dolls, wooden animals or small treasures and send them travelling between imaginary valley and mountain stations.
The set can stretch across a bedroom, from a bunk bed towards the floor, along a balcony or out into the garden. With long lengths of cord included, children can create impressively large routes and experiment with height, slope, gravity, rope tension and counterbalance as they work out the best way to make their cable car run smoothly.
What makes this set especially satisfying is the relationship between the two gondolas. As one travels down, the other moves up, allowing children to see the principle of a shuttle system clearly rather than simply pulling a single car along a rope.
